Behind the oversized arched glass and wooden doors and complete with two en suite bathrooms lies the Upper Suite; it is the perfect room for getting ready.
It is a lovely and special place for the wedding party to prepare, drink champagne, do hair and makeup and dressing and in general enjoy their pre-ceremony time together.
It can also be set up with cocktail tables and chairs, with the French 1930 dental cabinet serving as a unique auxiliary bar.
An early 19th century English oak refectory table twelve feet in length is truly the central gathering place of the venue.
Surrounded by culinary artifacts and cooking implements, vintage signs, paintings and photographs, candelabras, antique farm tools and pottery, this table is a wonderful place to lounge, eat, drink, or sit watching the preparations of a celebrity chef or a cooking lesson taking place in the huge, open, light-filled kitchen adjoining the dining area.
As is always true, the kitchen is the heart and hearth of the house.
With its original 1847 wooden beamed ceiling, antique white subway tiles, and work island fashioned from a 19th century country store counter topped with a massive slab of marble, it is both aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional.
There are plentiful separate food prep areas, two sinks, a six-burner stove with two ovens, a dishwasher, washer&dryer and a SubZero refrigerator, all available for use.
